The EU will take provisional measures to prevent imported steel and aluminum from rinsing over Europe, as US customs force for exporting countries to find new consumer markets for their products. Such measures may be in place as of mid-July, EU Commerce Commissioner Cecilia Malmström has announced.
"We are seriously considering interim measures, I would say that they may be in place in mid-July. The exact form is still being discussed, Cecilia Malmström said at a press conference recently, according to Reuters.
Steel from the EU, Mexico, and Canada is subject to import duties in the United States of 25 percent and for aluminum, the tariffs are 10 percent.
