Vancouver-based Getchell Gold has unveiled that the 2022 drill programme at the company’s Fondaway Canyon gold project in Nevada, in the U.S., has begun.

This year’s programme is initially following up on last year's high-grade gold discovery of 10.4 g/t Au over 25 metres within a broader zone grading 6.3 g/t Au over 50.7 metres, the Canadian business said in a statement.

Getchell Gold says its broader drill plan is “to continue expanding on the substantive zones of mineralization discovered during the previous two years of drilling”.

“The last drill hole of 2021 far exceeded expectations, reporting our best gold intercept to date and likely represents a newly-discovered highly-mineralized structural zone,“ said Mike Sieb, the president of Getchell Gold, as quoted in the statement. “I look forward with great anticipation to the first series of drill holes that will be bracketing this zone.”
