Vancouver-based Origen Resources has an-nounced that exploration crews have been mobilized to Canada’s Newfoundland with the aim to “follow-up on the numerous and exten-sive lithium anomalies identified in fall 2021 field work and to com-plete the planned phase one evaluation on all claim holdings.”

The miner said in a statement that the field work finalised last autumn included eight of the company’s 20 greenfield lithium prospects in Newfoundland which had not seen any relevant exploration work.

As the miner is moving towards drill testing, the results to be obtained from the current phase of exploration are to enable Origen Resources to prioritise targets for phase two work which is planned for later this year.

“A total of 292 till, 28 rock and 154 biogeochemical samples were collected and submitted for analysis. Given the scarcity of outcrop on some claims and flat lying terrane, which can make spotting outcrops difficult during traverses, Origen and its Consultants have utilized sat-ellite image processing to identify areas with greatest potential for bedrock exposure,” the statement said.
