Miner begins drilling at U.S. lithium project

Drilling commences Vancouver-based Spearmint Resources has announced it is launching a drill programme at the McGee lithium clay project in Clayton Valley, in the U.S. state of Nevada.

“On June 11, 2021, Spearmint received the Technical Report on its 'McGee Lithium Clay Project' which included a maiden resource esti-mate of 815,000 indicated tonnes and 191,000 inferred tonnes for a total of 1,006,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent,” the com-pany said in a statement.

In addition to the McGee project, the Canadian company owns a fur-ther two projects in Clayton Valley.

James Nelson, the president of Spearmint Resources, said that the company was “very pleased to have now started this next phase of drilling on the 'McGee Lithium Clay Project' in Clayton Valley, Ne-vada, with the goal to build upon our maiden resource estimate of 815,000 indicated tonnes and 191,000 inferred tonnes for a total of 1,006,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent”.
