Swedish mining and infrastructure equipment maker Epiroc has secured a major contract from China’s Dazhong Mining. The deal covers deliveries of mining equipment and services, and the supplied machines are to be used to expand two of the Chinese com-pany’s underground iron ore mines.

“Dazhong Mining has ordered a variety of rigs for face drilling, pro-duction and rock reinforcement for use at the Zhouyoufang and Zhongxinji mines in the Anhui Province,” Epiroc said in a statement.

The order is worth about SEK 200 million (US$23 million), and it was booked in the third quarter of 2021. The equipment is to be delivered in 2021 and 2022.

“In addition to the equipment, the order includes on-site service and training including sophisticated simulators, which provide a safe and realistic environment to enhance the skills of machine operators,” ac-cording to the statement.
