Polymetal to develop one of the largest gold fields in Russian Urals

Polymetal, one of Russia’s largest gold mining companies, will start the development of Maminskoye gold field, one of the largest gold fields, located in the Russian Urals region, according to the company and some local media reports.

 

The Maminskoye gold field is located in the Kamensky urban district of the Ekaterinburg region, while its industrial development will begin in 2025. The reserves of the field are estimated at about 14.7 million tons of ore with a total gold grade of about 28 tons.

 

According to Arkady Goncharov, Managing Director of Maminskoye Mining Company JSC – the company, that will implement a project as part of Polymetal - development will be carried out by open-cut mining method.

 

Arkady Goncharov comments:

 

«To minimize the impact on the environment, we will ensure the maximum use of grid electricity in mining operations, as well as the use of modern environmentally friendly technologies».

 

The Maminskoye field is located 70 km from Yekaterinburg and 30 km from Kamensk-Uralsky.

 

The investment project is designed for over 10 years and will create about 400 jobs.
