Canada’s E3 Metals has released a preliminary eco-nomic assessment (PEA) which outlines its plans to launch its Clearwater lithium project with a designed production capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year. The project life is set at 20 years, the company said in a statement.

“The combination of electrochemically produced lithium hydroxide, tar-geted process re-cycle streams, and relatively low cost of energy in Al-berta provides for a very attractive trade-off between OPEX and CAPEX,” said Chris Doornbos, President and CEO of E3 Metals, as quoted in the statement. “We are very excited to be moving forward with the project development work into 2021 as we progress on the path to a Pre-Feasi-bility Study.”

The project is to generate all-in operating costs of some USD 73.2 million per year, according to data released by the company.
