Metso closes its foundry operations in South Africa

Metso will discontinue foundry operations in Isithebe, South Africa by the end of September 2019.
The decision to close the Isithebe foundry, which is part of Metso Minerals Consumables business area, concerns about 200 employees.

The discontinuation will have a small negative impact on Metso's third-quarter results.

"We have carefully evaluated all possible follow-up measures, for which the closure of the foundry operations at Isithebe has proven to be the only feasible solution," says Sami Takaluoma, Director, Minerals Consumables.
