The Russian Uchalinsky Mining and Processing Plant (part of the UMMC group) has attracted a loan of 25 billion rubles for the development of the Novo-Uchalinsky copper pyrite deposit, one of Russia’s largest copper fields.

A credit line for ten years for the company was opened by Sberbank.

The total volume of ore reserves at the deposit is estimated at 112 million tons. The estimated production volume after reaching full capacity will be 4.5 million tonnes of ore per year.

Russian regulators approved the project in August 2021. The development of the field includes the construction of surface and underground structures necessary for the extraction of ore. The development of the deposit will make it possible to replenish the raw material base of the UMMC group for the production of refined copper and zinc and will ensure the utilization of enterprises for 25 years.
