Danish engineering firm to buy Thyssenkrupp’s mining business under US$386M deal

Danish company FLSmidth has announced it will purchase TK Mining, the mining business of German engineering gi-ant Thyssenkrupp for some for €325 million (US$386 million), with the transaction expected to be closed in the second quarter of 2022.

 

“A combination of the two companies will create a leading global min-ing technology provider with operations from pit to plant, extending the strategic customer relationships with a complementary product offering and customer base as well as improved geographic cover-age,” the Danish firm said in a statement.

 

TK Mining is currently present in 24 countries worldwide, running a range of engineering and global service centres. The business is op-erated by a workforce of close to 3,400 employees, according to the statement.

 

FLSmidth says it provides innovative engineering, equipment and service solutions to companies from the mining and cement indus-tries.
