Canadian miner Sky Gold has announced the results from the diamond drill programme on the company’s Mustang property contiguous to the Queensway Gold Project in Canada’s Newfoundland.
“A total of 19 diamond drill holes comprising 3,283 meters were com-pleted, with one additional hole … lost at 47 meters, and re-drilled. All holes were directed at interpreted epithermal structurally controlled gold mineralization in the Mustang Zone, located on the eastern portion of the property,” the miner said in a statement.
“Previous exploration on the Mustang Zone in the 1980’s and 1990’s had returned significant gold mineralization in surface rock samples, soil geo-chemical samples and diamond drill core. The Company’s 2020-2021 di-amond drill program confirmed and expanded the gold mineralization on the Mustang Zone,” the statement said.
Sky Gold says its Newfoundland portfolio comprises two non-contiguous claim blocks in Central Newfoundland.
“The south-western Mustang property hosts the Outflow Prospect com-prised of the Mustang and Piper mineralized zones, located adjacent to New Found Gold Corp's recently announced intersect of 92.86 g/t Au over 19.0 meters,” according to the miner.
