Australian miner Rockfire Resources has reported a study indicated positive results for small-scale, open pit mining operation at the company's Plateau gold deposit in Australia’s North Queensland.

“This study lays solid foundations for in-fill and extension drilling, which is expected to result in an expanded Scoping Study later in 2021,” the miner said in a statement. “A modest, net positive cash flow, ranging from AUD $6.8m to AUD $19.4m (GBP £3.7m to GBP £10.7m), results from a small-scale, open pit mine.”

Rockfire Resources announced a number of “targets within the proposed pit outlines are yet to be drilled and the Scoping Study has identified nu-merous opportunities to increase gold ounces with additional shallow drill-ing.”

Rockfire Resources says it is a gold and copper exploration company owning mineral assets in the country’s state of Queensland. The company owns the Lighthouse, Copper Dome and Copperhead projects in Aus-tralia.
