US miner reports higher silver production

US miner Coeur Mining has reported an increased silver production in 2018, at 12.9 million oz, up 8% compared with a year earlier.
"Strong results were driven by increased production from Palmarejo and Rochester as well as significantly higher production from Kensington," the company said in a statement.
Last year, the company produced 367,728 oz of gold, 6.8 million pounds of zinc, and 3.9 million pounds of lead, according to data from Coeur Mining.
"Gold production decreased 4% over the same period as positive results from Palmarejo and Rochester were outweighed by lower production at Wharf," the statement said.
Coeur Mining says it is a precious metals producer with five mines in North America. Its wholly-owned operations include Mexico’s Palmarejo silver-gold complex, Nevada’s Rochester silver-gold mine, the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead mine in Canada’s British Columbia, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska, and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota, according tothe miner.
