Australian minister gives go ahead for $76M iron ore mine
Australia’s Federal Environment and Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg has approved the development of the Rogetta iron ore mine in Tasmania’s north-western part by Forward Mining under the country’s national environment law.
Frydenberg said in a statement that the iron ore project is estimated to be worth A$100 million ($76 million), bringing about 200 jobs during the construction phase and up to 100 permanent jobs, according to the Australian minister.
The "sale of its products will bring in export revenues of up $90-100 million each year," the statement said.
